Youth Travel Scholarships
The Council offers scholarships for youth groups making their first trip to a hostel.  North Carolina Girl Scout troops working on their hosteling patch have used these scholarships to visit the Galax Hostel, the Washington DC and New York Hostels.   One troop visited the Chamounix Mansion in Philadelphia.   A college group just returned from Chicago.  To apply, use the Contact Us form.  Just provide the name of your youth group, the number of students and adults who will need overnight accommodations, the name of the hostel and the date of your proposed trip.   After your group's scholarship is approved and you have made your reservations, your overnight fees will be mailed directly to the hostel.

Girl Scouts!   HI-USA is offering an essay contest just for you.  Share 500 words about how hostelling helps young people understand the world better and you could win airfare and hostelling overnights for yourself and friends.   Find out more now at Discover the World Essay Contest for Girl Scouts

GS Troop 154, it's great to receive your letters!  It sounds like the Nightlights Tour of our Nation's Capitol was a favorite.   Leader Billie Jo Barbour took this picture at the DC Hostel.  Hey!  I hear we'll get to see some of your artwork for a Community Wall at our March member meeeting at the new Haw River State Park!  Look forward to seeing you there!
